WHY DID L30 BECOMING SUMMIT | FC ?
UYSA POLICY CHANGED
In as simple an explanation as possible, UYSA changed their policy about how OMs (Organizational Members) are to operate. In order to provide our members with the benefits they have come to expect from our club, we needed to restructure. To understand more, please read the L30 AGM Minutes 2.22.2022 via the link below.
SUMMIT | FC CLUB DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The Summit | FC Club Development Plan meets the new UYSA requirement while still maintaining a flexible structure to accommodate the variety of teams long associated with L30.
Summit | FC’s vision is to continue to provide a platform for coach & player development that suits the varied communities, commitment levels & desires of players, who want to incorporate a love of the game into their lives.
Summit | FC will have branded teams that share a common name & common uniform to allow former L30 teams that want or need the ability to club pass to do so, while still maintaining the relative independence to run team business as they see fit. Summit | FC will continue to have sub-clubs, which will now be referred to as Partner Clubs.
SO WHO CAN CLUB PASS WITH WHOM?
That's a good question. Summit | FC teams can club pass with Summit | FC teams. Metasport teams can club pass with Meta teams. SWAT teams can club pass with SWAT teams. Vipers teams can club pass with Vipers teams. Atletico teams can club pass with Atletico teams.
L30 teams that choose to stay as what we now call L30 Legacy teams, will be treated by the state as independent teams that register with UYSA thru Summit | FC. L30 Legacy teams will NOT be allowed to club pass with any team. They should be prepared to operate during the season without club passing support from any other team, regardless if they share the same common uniform between 2 or more teams.
AS AN L30 TEAM, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO MOVING FORWARD?
Prior to May 1, 2022, all L30 teams need to decide how you want to register your team to participate in the 2022-2023 seasonal year.
The current 2021-22 L30 Teams will be grandfathered into this new Summit | FC structure. Referred to now as L30 Legacy Teams, these teams will be allowed to continue as they always have until they decide to not exist, graduate high school, become a Summit | FC team OR migrate to one of our Partner Clubs. The only difference between L30 Legacy Teams & the rest of Summit | FC is that they will NOT be allowed to club pass with anyone.
For some of you this isn’t a big deal. For others that have two or more teams that are accustomed to club passing between the two teams, you will not be allowed to do so & need to give serious thought to how you want to organize for the 2022-23 seasonal year.
Big picture for our current L30 Teams -
* No club passing in 2022-23 & beyond
* Can keep your unique name and unique uniform
* Can multi roster between "different" age groups in place of club passing, like we did before club passing existed (Note: This is different age groups NOT different divisions between the same age group & you must pay the UYSA required multi-roster fee.)
* Must abide by the same old policies & procedures that have always been in place for L30 - same coaching & sideline expectations as always
* Run tryouts as an individual or in groups of your choosing
* Team tryout information listed on internet & social media outlets
* Representation for UYSA alignment - same as always
* Follow the Summit FC Club Development Plan (CDP.) Having a CDP is a UYSA requirement across the
state for all clubs that want the club benefits we have had in the past. In summary, there is nothing in the Summit | FC CDP that should cause you concern.
* No new L30 teams will be created
* Should you choose to move to a different UYSA Organizational Member (outside of Summit | FC & our Partner Clubs,) the team's gaming league spot will stay with Summit | FC.
IS THERE ONE SUMMIT | FC TRYOUT?
Currently we are not planning on changing our tryout format for this coming May 2022. Summit | FC will advertise each team's tryout information on our website and via social media.
If there are groups of Summit | FC teams that want to have a central tryout location/dates/times, we are happy to support that.
WILL SUMMIT | FC FEES INCREASE THE COST TO PLAY?
Fees for Summit | FC will remain as consistent & low cost as possible.
We have not had a price increase since referee fees and field fees went up a couple of years ago. In fact we were able to decreased the HSP fee for 2021-22.
Current supply chain issues are affecting a wide range of things and as a result we expect a slight fee increase because of this, not because of the restructuring.
Once field contracts are secured for 2022 we will publish fees for 2022-23.
